In Patrick Stump’s Digster By playlist, we get to see a soulful and funky side to the former Fall Out Boy front man.   We’re really digging his selection of Prince, Iggy Pop and  Eddie Harris tracks.

Born and raised in suburban Chicago, Patrick Stump made a name for himself as the frontman of Fall Out Boy, one of the most successful emo bands during the early 21st century. When the band took a break in 2009, he used the opportunity to launch a solo career, ditching the sound he’d cooked up with his Fall Out Boy bandmates and transforming himself into a sort of pop-punk Justin Timberlake, with R&B, soul, and electronica serving as his new influences.  His solo album Soul Punk, which  dropped in October of 2011, shows Patrick acting as a one-man band, handling all the instrumental and production duties himself.

Take a listen Patrick’s own personal playlist featuring tracks from artists that have inspired him as well as tracks from his latest album Soul Punk.
